South Mercado Station

Our featured station of the month is the South Mercado station at the MSA Annex.

Deployed on February 8, 2018, this SMART station has accumulated over 550 rides in just over a year! What’s a SMART station? Smart Stations are bike stations without the kiosk. The hardware and solar panel are all housed within the map frame at the end of the station. With no credit card reader, all transactions take place through our CycleFinder app or with a member key.

A popular destination for shoppers, simply dock and enjoy 13 locally owned small businesses. The shops and eateries at the MSA Annex are housed beautifully inside modified shipping containers. The containers, designed by Tucson Architect Paul Weiner, are architecturally compelling and modern in Nature. Plus you only steps away from the San Agustin Mercado, a quick Tugo ride to the 5th and Congress station in the heart of downtown or 4th and 9th Tugo station where you can explore what 4th Avenue has to offer.

Looking to try some plant based food you will dig?  Stop by Beaut Burger and grab bean based burger with veggies, walnuts, grains and spices.  Better yet, members enjoy 10% off total purchases with Tugo Member Perks!

After dining, pick up a pieces of iconic Tucson swag from Why I Love Where I Live.  They have the best t-shirt and sticker designs that represent Tucson perfectly. With a 10% discount for Tugo members, it’s certainly one deal you don’t want to miss!

Before you head back out on your Tugo, don’t forget to stop by Hermosa to get a late day buzz. With over 9 types of coffee beans, Hermosa is a coffee lovers heaven.

Whether planning a quick lunch break or an afternoon excursion, South Mercado station should be on your Tucson bucket list. Grab a friend, grab a pass and GET RIDING!
